Your Couples & Milestone Session Guide

You do not need to know how to pose together. Begin with the relationship you already have, whether that feels playful, quiet, affectionate, or a little camera-shy.

Decide what you want to remember

  • Your reason: Tell me whether you are celebrating an engagement, an anniversary, a milestone, or simply this part of your life together.
  • Your setting: Share any meaningful location ideas. We can discuss suitability, access, and any permissions before making a final plan.
  • Your comfort level: Let me know what kinds of affection or interaction feel natural to you.
  • Your priorities: Mention any particular portrait, detail, or person you want included.

Dress like yourselves

Aim for outfits that feel related without being identical. Similar levels of formality often feel more cohesive than matching every color.

Check that you can walk, sit, and move comfortably in what you choose. Bring practical footwear for getting to the portrait location, and ask before planning multiple outfits so we can work within your booked session.

Bring meaning, not a production

A meaningful object can be lovely if it belongs to your story. You do not need a collection of props, a rehearsed pose list, or a different personality for the camera.

If being photographed feels awkward, say so. We can begin with simple interaction rather than treating every moment as a formal portrait.

Leave room for the unexpected

A laugh after a missed step or a quiet pause between directions may become a favorite memory. You do not need to evaluate every expression while the session is happening.

Next step: Tell me what this milestone means to you and what you love most about your relationship right now.
